Central City Backpackers

Where is the Hostel?
We are always improving our hostel, so Central City Backpackers will look better when you arrive. We will keep these photos as up-to-date as possible, but things will be changing. By the way, these photo descriptions were written by Nyssa - the girl with the blue scarf.

Kristi - Do all evil (only if its fun) Muhahahaha
Rachelle - Whats 'Evil'?
Nyssa - See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, do no evil, knows no evil

Talk about Evil? These girls joined a few more and had a Christmas party that will be remebered for a long time! Look at the Christmas Party photos for more evidence. In the photo are (Left to Right) Lyn, Renee, Kristi, Erna and Rachelle.

Rachelle (right) is the reception supervisor, and is incredibly enthusiastic about making your stay in Hobart the best it can be. Rachelle is also from Airlie Beach, and knows tours all over Australia as well as Tasmania. Denise (left) is one of our housekeeping crew, keeping your room as clean as possible.

Here's Erin with Nyssa.  Erin 's one of our housekeepers at Central City Backpackers and loves nothing more than to vacuum your room!
(Editor: Nyssa is the brightest spark in Hobart, being a journalist, an engineer, a radio DJ and a volunteer at the RSPCA shelter where Fraser was born! She also wrote most of these photo descriptions!)

Hanna's one of the reception crew and also works part-time as a guide on Tassie's East Coast.  She has extensive knowledge of Tassie, and as she's a keen bushwalker, Hanna can tell you all about the best places to go to enjoy Tassie's wilderness.  She is also very friendly! She is also recently returned from a holiday in Japan.

Peter's the new manager of Central City Backpackers.  He's from Airlie Beach in Queensland , so is finding it a bit chilly here in Tassie.  The girls love him and it might be because (apart from his big muscles) he's just adopted a cute little black kitten called Fraser.
(Editor: Actually, I don't have big muscles, and I dont think any girls love me except my beautiful girlfriend Jen! - but thanks for the ego boost Nyssa)

This is the walkway looking to the back of the hostel. The hostel is basically 'L' shaped, and the orange door leads to the back corridor where most of the rooms are.

This is the walkway looking to the front of the hostel. The lounge is to the left here, with a large TV with FOX 1, FOX 2, ESPN and local stations. We are the only hostel in Tasmania so far with satellite TV!
A bunch of guys returning from an amazing trip with Adventure Tours along the East coast of Tasmania. They are with their guide, Adam, and are about to head off for dinner together.

This is part of our comfortable retro lounge where you can make new friends or join a car hire team. The friendly atmosphere starts at reception, spreads through the hostel, and finishes in the lounge.

Nyssa's one of the reception crew who's a big fan of food, so is happy to recommend some of the yummiest restaurants in Hobart .  She can also tell you the best places to go out on a Friday/Saturday night and you'll probably catch her at the pub after work enjoying a fine Tassie beer.

One of our 4 share dorms. All dorms have plenty of natural light and space to move and all have windows for summer and heaters for winter.
One of the bunk beds in a light and airy 6 share dorm. All the beds come with sheet and pillow, and top sheets and doonas can be hired from reception at a small cost.
